1. To wind the watch, turn the crown (in position 1) clockwise about 40 times. 2. Pull the crown out to position 2. Turn it counter-clockwise to display the day prior to the correct day. Then turn it clockwise to display the date prior to the correct date. 3. Pull the cr own out to position 3 and turn the hands forward until I set the normal 12h hand which jumps on the hour (and controls the date function). The 24 hour/GMT hand moves along with the minute hand when rotating the crown forwards or backwards. I set the watch to keep 24hour time in sync with my local New York EST. The user manual tells you to 1. wind up the watch , 2. set the day/date to previous day/date , 3. wind the hands of the watch through to the next day so it sets the correct day/date and time, and that is exactly what I have been doing, in that order.
