Is it just me, or is the lower end of Patek (eg Calatrava, maybe even a base Aquanaut) not even close to being worth the retail price? At the prices that Patek asks, what you get from Lange, Vacheron, or AP (only a Royal Oak, not a Code) is way, way better.
I do not however understand Parek Philippe. I get the craftmanship and history. I don't get why their styles are so hugely lacking ranging from plain/forgetable to (sorry.) ugly (to me). I dont think there is a single eye catching design, if you removed the badge and asked me what who I thought the brand is, then I would say a bargain basement company. The statement that the majority of Patek Philippe Nautilus owners don’t care about the watch is the result of incidental and casual research with real people. And by real people, I mean a Nautilus 3700/1 owner who wears it in the wild, several watch journalists, and two fashion models, among others.When comparing genuine and counterfeit Patek Philippe watches, several key areas consistently reveal the truth. On authentic pieces, the quality of the dial printing is impeccable, with crisp text and logos. Fake watches often show blurry or inconsistent printing.
