Having owned both, I'd say the biggest thing Rolex has over Omega is thickness of watches .The submariner: Rolex lose less value over time, if you dont like it you can usualy sell it for .

As the title states I am trying to decide between one of the 2 Rolex’s or an Omega Moonwatch. I’m active military and am about to reenlist indef and want to buy a watch as a gift to myself. I’ve been eyeing a Rolex submariner or gmt master ii for a while but I hate the AD games.While I prefer Omega as a brand, I prefer the Submariner as a watch, if that makes any sense. Truly, they both offer depths that I feel we all should explore, if you understand my meaning. I have more thoughts and opinions about Rolex and Omega, but I try to play it close to the vest.I would hands down choose Rolex. While I enjoy Omega's price points far more, Rolex wins in every department for me with the exception of the chronographs. I am just not a fan of Daytona's, and speedys are really really nice, especially for that price point.
At this moment I've got the opportunity of buying a brand new Submariner for 2k above retail (quite good in my area). I've wanted this watch for a while but I would have preferred wanting the Seamaster pro. I'm undecided if to pull the trigger for the following reasons:
