Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3187 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. The upgraded GMT movement is the same cal. 3285 seen in the current GMT-Master II and comes with the more efficient Chronergy escapement, which translates to a longer power reserve of 70 hours versus 48 for the cal. 3187 seen in the last version.The Rolex Caliber 3187 offers users a 50-hour power reserve and like all modern Rolex movements that feature the brand’s ‘Superlative Chronometer’ status, the Cal. 3187 promises timekeeping accuracy within -2/+2 seconds per day.
